Airbnbs & Rentals

There are also plenty of great Airbnbs and rental homes nearby—ideal if you’re coming with a group or want a little more space. We recommend checking in Santa Barbara, Goleta, or Montecito.

Getting Here

The closest airport is the Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) and it is just 10 minutes from the venue. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) and Long Beach Airport (LGB) are also within reach, but will require longer travel time on the road than SBA.

From Los Angeles, Santa Barbara is about a two hour drive north. If flying in, renting a car is an option, or coordinating rides with friends. Additionally, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara do have ride shares and taxis available.

Another option is to arrive by train (what is not to love about trains). The Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner, travels daily along the California coast. The Goleta station (GTA) is just a ten minute ride from the resort, while the Santa Barbara station (SBA) is about 20 minutes away from the Bacara. There are a number of places to board, from San Luis Obispo to San Diego. Sit back, enjoy the ocean views, and let someone else handle the driving before stepping off and arriving at the resort.

While You’re Around

A few of our favorite spots in the area

CaJE Coffee Roasters

A favorite from Andriana’s college days, Caje was a go-to spot for early morning lattes, mid-study fuel, or just an excuse to take a break. It’s now even easier to find with a second location on State Street. Great coffee, good energy, and a little nostalgic charm.

1316 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101

D’Angelo Bread

A beloved neighborhood bakery known for its old-world charm, artisan breads, and impossibly good pastries. From flaky croissants to rustic brunch plates, everything is made with care—and a touch of butter. A common stop for Andriana and Bruno.

25 W Gutierrez St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101

Sam’s To Go

A Goleta staple (now with multiple locations) known for its generously packed sandwiches and friendly service. Andriana’s go-to? The classic BLT with avocado on Dutch crunch bread—a nostalgic favorite from her college days. The crispy bacon is delicious and plentiful.

6831 Hollister Ave #AA, Goleta CA, 93117

Opal Restaurant & Bar

A Santa Barbara favorite blending eclectic California cuisine with global influences. Known for its wood-fired pizzas, fresh seafood, and award-winning wine list, Opal offers a warm, elegant setting ideal for a relaxed yet refined dinner.

1325 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101

Lilly’s Taqueria

Unassuming, affordable, and absolutely delicious. Lilly’s is a local go-to for authentic street-style tacos served fast and with no fuss. Tucked under the freeway downtown, it’s the kind of spot you hear about and end up going back to every time you’re in town. Don’t skip the salsas.

290 D, Storke Rd, Goleta, CA 93117

Joe’s Café

A State Street classic since 1928, Joe’s is part old-school diner, part lively bar, and entirely Santa Barbara. Known for its strong pours, big plates, and local crowd, it’s the kind of place where breakfast, lunch, or a late-night drink all feel equally at home. Come for the comfort food, stay for the people-watching.

536 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101

Tre Lune

A beloved Montecito staple and a must-visit for Bruno and Andriana on every trip. Tre Lune offers classic Italian dishes in a cozy, elegant setting that feels both timeless and welcoming. From their handmade pastas to the charming ambiance, it's a spot that holds a special place in our hearts. We had dinner here after getting engaged.

1151 Coast Village Rd, Montecito, CA 93108

Flor de Maíz

A fresh take on Oaxacan-inspired coastal Mexican cuisine, right on Cabrillo Boulevard. Flor de Maíz pairs bold flavors with ocean views—think handmade tortillas, mole, mezcal cocktails, and dishes as beautiful as they are delicious. A little more upscale, a lot worth it. Bruno and Andriana stop here every trip, so Andriana can enjoy the fried octopus.

29 E Cabrillo Blvd, Santa Barbara, CA 93101

Margerum Wine Company Tasting Room

Margerum offers crisp white wines and a cozy atmosphere. But it's their olive tapenade that Andriana can't stop thinking about—served with warm baguette, it's the perfect pairing for a leisurely afternoon.

19 E Mason St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101

The Funk Zone

A vibrant, walkable neighborhood where Santa Barbara's creative spirit comes alive. Once an industrial area, it's now home to eclectic art galleries, boutique shops, and tasting rooms.

Downtown State Street

State Street is the vibrant heart of downtown Santa Barbara—a palm-lined promenade where historic charm meets modern energy. It’s home to a mix of local boutiques, art galleries, wine tasting rooms, and some of the city’s most beloved restaurants. Whether you're strolling through La Arcada Plaza, catching live music, or enjoying a sunset cocktail, State Street offers a quintessential Santa Barbara experience. Andriana loves to stop at Silver And store for new rings.

The Playgrounds Hiking Trail

The Playgrounds is a short hike in the Santa Ynez Mountains that leads to a vast expanse of sandstone boulders and hidden caves. While the trail itself is brief, the surrounding area offers endless opportunities for bouldering and scrambling, all with stunning ocean views. A place where Andriana spent countless hours, and a place she took Bruno when they started dating.
